Field Trippin'

Emilee's third grade class had their first field trip of the year. They went to Melcalf Bottoms in The Great Smoky Mountain National Park. The kids got to learn about habitats, and a little more about the park. Did you know that the Great Smoky Mountains has the largest population of salamanders in the U.S.? I didn't!

Aren't they cute? Emi and her friends Abby, Brittney and Jenna got to do some "field work". They dug up some of the dirt along the river and then some in the forest and analyzed it. This way they were learning about all the things that make up the forest and rivers! Quite interesting!!
